Produced in 2005, Crate's critically acclaimed second show was the Canadian professional premier of Blackbird. Presented each night in an abandoned apartment at Yonge and Gerrard Streets in downtown Toronto, the play takes place on Christmas Eve and tells the story of Froggy and Baylis - two lost souls who find themselves together for what may be the last time. Written by Adam Rapp, the Crate production of Blackbird featured Kate Meehan and Chris Reynolds. Kimberly Purtell directed with Scott Oleszkowicz as Stage and Technical Director.
